In a highly provocative and warlike address, the speaker of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, sent a clear message to the United States and the international community, emphasizing that his country is in an existential war with Washington and will not take a single step back.
On the occasion of the death of Iranian citizens in the southern sector of the country from American strikes, Qalibaf made it clear that Tehran will use every means, military and diplomatic, to protect its national security, centered on absolute control over the Strait of Hormuz.
Existential war with the USA and the "locked" passage
Qalibaf underlined that the strategy of the United States does not merely aim at the overthrow of the Iranian regime, but at the complete dismemberment of the country.
The speaker of the parliament justified the closure of the Strait of Hormuz during the recent 40-day war, emphasizing that the national security of the country now depends on the enforcement of "Iranian arrangements" in this strategic passage.
He made it clear that any memorandum of understanding or diplomatic agreement only has value if it is implemented in practice.
Otherwise, Iran will apply the "eye for an eye" doctrine, leaving its armed forces completely free to deliver crushing blows.
War and negotiation as a unified strategy
Responding to citizens' questions about whether the way out is weapons or diplomacy, the Iranian official was cynical:
“War and negotiation are not opposite concepts, but two different methods for protecting our national interests.
Negotiation at this stage does not equate to compromise, but is part of the strategy of resistance.”
According to Qalibaf, the separation of these two tools constitutes a strategic mistake.
Iran, as he mentioned, will continue to apply pressure militarily and diplomatically, extending this tactic to Lebanon, to the lifting of sanctions, and also to the demand for the complete removal of American bases from the region.
Front of internal unity and revenge
Closing his address, the speaker of the parliament called on the Iranian people for absolute rallying under the commands of the supreme leader, asking that the voices sowing despair or doubt be ignored.
He pledged personally that Iran will take revenge for the blood of its dead, while addressing the residents of southern Iran, who are on the front line of the conflicts, he promised that the leadership is ready to sacrifice its life to guarantee victory against the "criminal enemy."
